SYMPTOMS
After you open a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation in Microsoft Internet Explorer, you cannot switch to the next slide.
CAUSE
This problem occurs when the following conditions are true: - The Web page contains frames.
-and-
- The PowerPoint slide is the source of a frame.
This problem occurs because Microsoft Internet Explorer uses an incorrect deactivation method to switch from one slide to the next.
WORKAROUNDWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may
require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve
problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
To work around this problem, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box type regedt32.exe and then press ENTER.
- In Registry Editor, select the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\PowerPoint.Show.8 - On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
- Create the following value:
Name: BrowserFlags Type: REG_DWORD Data: 0x80000000
- Quit Registry Editor.
