This article was previously published under Q303041 SYMPTOMS
When you paste an object (shape) into the Group window, you may experience any of the following symptoms:
- You do not see the pasted object in the Group window.
-or-
- When you use the scroll bars in the Group window to bring the pasted object into view, you cannot find the object.
-or-
- When you close the Group window and return to the drawing, the object appears in a place you did not expect it to appear. For example, it appears at the bottom of the drawing area rather than near the grouped object.
RESOLUTION
Because you cannot control the placement of the pasted object, move the object in the drawing area to the location you want after you paste it.
You can also set the zoom percentage in the Group window to a lower value and then manually move the object to the location you want. To do this, follow these steps:
- Select the grouped object.
- On the Edit menu, click Open Group.
- Select one shape in the group and then press CTRL+C.
- In the Group window, press CTRL+V to paste the shape.
- On the View menu, point to Zoom, and then click 100%, 75%, or 50%.
- Move the shape to the location you want.
- To save your changes and return to the drawing area, click the Close Window button in the Group window.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
