This article was previously published under Q302844 For a Microsoft Visio 2002 version of this article, see 299089.
SYMPTOMS
In Microsoft Visio, when you start to convert an inserted AutoCAD drawing into Visio format and then attempt to cancel the conversion, you are unable to do so as expected. Instead, the conversion is completed, and the CAD drawing is converted into Visio format.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because you are unable to cancel the conversion of a CAD drawing to Visio format after the conversion is in progress. Immediately after you click Finish in the Convert Wizard dialog box, the conversion process starts. At this point, there is no way to cancel the conversion process.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, click Cancel in the Convert Wizard dialog box before you click Finish.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
