This article was previously published under Q302842 SYMPTOMS
After you install Windows, or install a new display adapter, or run a program, a monitor control menu may be displayed on the Windows desktop.
If you press ESCAPE, the menu is not removed. You are unable to quit the monitor control menu.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when Windows adjusts your display settings. Some monitors automatically display on-screen menus when they detect a change in settings. This enables you to adjust the monitor settings.
RESOLUTION
The monitor control menu is not part of Windows. To find out how to activate or quit the monitor control menu, consult your monitor documentation.
