The Ahead Nero Burning ROM software cannot locate the Wnaspi32.dll file after an upgrade to Windows XP (302809)

SYMPTOMS

If you upgrade your computer from Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) to Windows XP, and then you attempt to use Ahead Nero Burning ROM version 5.5.2.4 software, you can receive the following error message:
Nero - Burning Rom
The Win-ASPI file "Wnaspi32.dll" cannot be found, therefore you can currently select only image recorders.

Please reinstall Nero to receive a Windows ASPI Manager installer.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Advanced SCSI Programming Interface (ASPI) software interface is not included in Windows XP.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, reinstall the Ahead Nero Burning ROM software.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
