SYMPTOMS
When you attempt to start Microsoft Picture It! Publishing
2001 Platinum, you may receive the following error message:
PIP caused an Invalid Page Fault in module SWFlash.ocx
Or, the opening movie may play repeatedly, and Picture It!
Publishing does not start.
RESOLUTION
Install MacroMedia Shockwave Latest Release
To download and install the latest version of Shockwave, browse
to the following Macromedia Web site:
- Read steps 1, 2, and 3 on the Web site.
- Under step 1, click Click Here To Install. NOTE: The Click Here To Install button may be the alternative phrase Autoinstall Now!.
- If you are prompted with a Security Warning dialog box,
click Yes to install Shockwave Player 8.0.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to install Shockwave
Player.
- When the Shockwave Player installation is complete, a new
browser window is opened and a Shockwave movie begins to play.
- When the movie begins to play, you know that the
installation of Shockwave Player is successful.
- Close your Internet connection.

Install the Latest Video Driver
You may be able to resolve this issue by downloading and
installing the latest video driver available for your video adapter. Contact
your video adapter manufacturer for information about how to obtain and install
the latest video driver for your video adapter.

Reduce Graphics Hardware Acceleration
To reduce graphics hardware acceleration:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- Click the Performance tab, and then click Graphics.
- Move the Hardware Acceleration slider one notch to the left of the current setting.
- Click OK, and then click Close.
- When you receive the prompt to restart the computer, click Yes.
- Test to find out whether the issue is resolved. If the
issue continues to occur, repeat steps one through six until you reach the None
setting or the issue is resolved.
If the Hardware Acceleration slider is at the None setting and
the issue is not resolved, move the slider back to the original
setting.
If the above steps do not help, try the following steps.
WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk.
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
- In Registry Editor, locate and select the following
registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Picture It Pub\5.0
- In the Name column, double-click TimesRun to open the Edit DWORD Value dialog box.
- In the Value data box, type
10, and then click Close.
- On the Registry menu, click Exit to quit Registry Editor.
