OL2002: The Bullet Format Changes (302245)

SYMPTOMS

When you receive a reply to a message that contains bullets, the bullet format may change to numbers.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the original message was sent in Microsoft Outlook Rich Text format with Microsoft Outlook was the e-mail editor, and if Microsoft Word was used as the e-mail editor for the reply message.

WORKAROUND

To word around this issue, set Outlook 2002 to read Rich Text messages. To do this:
  1. Click Tools, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
  2. Click to select the Use Microsoft Word to read Rich Text e-mail messages check box.
  3. Click OK.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
