InstallHelperVB.dll Was Not Registered (302217)
The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q302217 SYMPTOMS
InstallHelperVB.dll appears to be unregistered after you install the Resolution Site Builder, and you receive the following message:
Unable to create instance of InstallHelperVB class.
CAUSE
The problem is caused by running a Resolution 3.1 installation program to create a sample database when Resolution 4.0 is already installed. The Resolution 3.1 installation program registers a temporary version of the InstallHelperVB.dll during the installation process and breaks the registration for the 4.0 version of InstallHelperVB.dll.
RESOLUTION
If you upgrade the Resolution Content Server from 3.1 SP1, and then run the Resolution 4.0 Database Configuration Application (DCA) to upgrade a database, no problem occurs. However, if you then upgrade 3.1 SP1 Desktop Client to the 4.0 Resolution Site Builder, and then try to upgrade another 3.1 SP1 database, InstallHelperVB.dll appears to be unregistered.
