After Marking a Posting for Approve, Decline, or Submit, Certain Posting/Page Modifications Are Allowed (302203)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Content Management Server 2001
  • NCompass Resolution 4.0

This article was previously published under Q302203

SYMPTOMS

The Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 Publishing API states that all modifications are prevented prior to the commit or rollback of the action. However, after you mark a posting for Approve, Decline, or Submit, you can change the posting and page values.

MORE INFORMATION

This issue does not cause wrong results, but is inconsistent with the documentation. The MSCMS Publishing API Help states that after a posting is marked for Approve, Decline, Submit, or Delete, no modifications can be made to the posting until a commit (or rollback) has been completed. This works fine for Delete, but if the other actions are marked on the posting, page updates are still allowed. Also, if the action is marked on the page, posting actions are still allowed.
