"MSCMS Proxy Component Is Not Correctly Installed" Message When You Start Site Builder (302062)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Content Management Server 2001
- NCompass Resolution 4.0
This article was previously published under Q302062 SYMPTOMS
When you start the Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 Site Builder, you receive the following message:
MSCMS proxy component is not correctly installed.
CAUSE
This message indicates that the wrong version of the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (JVM) has been detected during installation of the MSCMS 2001 Site Builder.
Installation of the JVM version that is included in the third-party software folder on the Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 CD usually fixes this problem. Occasionally, however, the Site Builder installation does not notify the installer that it has found a version of the JVM on the computer that will not work with MSCMS 2001.
RESOLUTION
Install the JVM from the third-party software folder, and then restart the computer.
The executable file is named MSJavx86.exe, and you can find it in the third-party Software\English\Msvm folder on the MSCMS 2001 CD.
