How To Include External Files in CMS 2001 (302056)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 SP1
  • NCompass Resolution 4.0

This article was previously published under Q302056

SUMMARY

This article describes how to include external files in Content Management Server (CMS).

MORE INFORMATION

  1. Create your own physical subdirectory (for example, MyDirectory) in the directory that corresponds to the NR virtual directory. For CMS, this is Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\IIS_NR.
  2. Store your own custom include files in this directory. You can also create other subdirectories with descriptive names like CSS, INC, Java, and Graphics for storing your different types of include files.
  3. Because the physical directory Program Files\Microsoft Content Management Server\Server\IIS_NR corresponds to the NR virtual directory, type, for example, /nr/MyDirectory/INC/MyFile.inc to reference an include file in your template.
Note that after you start including files that are external to the Resolution database, a complete backup or restoration of the Resolution Web site must include backing up this directory.
