Cannot Format an LS-120 Disk with the NTFS File System (301959)

SYMPTOMS

When you format an LS-120 disk in the graphical user interface (GUI), the NTFS file system is not an available option for formatting the disk. If you attempt to format an LS-120 disk with NTFS at a command prompt, you receive the following error message:
The NTFS files system does not function on floppy disks.

CAUSE

LS-120 disks are treated as floppy disks. NTFS is not a supported file system for floppy disks.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
