PPT2002: Some Animations Slower When Viewing Presentation Saved as Web Page (301896)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft PowerPoint 2002
This article was previously published under Q301896 SYMPTOMS
If you save a Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 presentation containing animations as a Web page (*.htm), or Web archive (*.mht), some of the animations in the HTML version of the presentation may render slowly or appear to be choppy compared to the original presentation.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following viewing options for your presentation:
- If you want your audience to see and experience all PowerPoint 2002 slide show features in full fidelity, have your audience use PowerPoint 2002.
- If you are not using the PowerPoint 2002 specific slide show features but you want your animations, slide transitions, and multimedia to be displayed for your audience the same as it does for you, have your audience view the presentation in PowerPoint 97, PowerPoint 2000, or PowerPoint 2002.
- If your presentation does not contain any macros or ActiveX controls, have your audience view the presentation by using the Microsoft PowerPoint 97 Viewer.
- If you're using PowerPoint 2002 specific animation and transition features and your audience does not have PowerPoint 2002, use the PowerPoint 2002 HTML format. There will be some loss of performance and fidelity when the presentation is viewed as a Web page.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
