Windows 98, you may receive the following error message:
Error 2737. An internal error has occurred. CAUSE This error message can occur when the Office Setup program
detects an incorrect version of the Advapi32.dll file. RESOLUTION To resolve this problem, use the Windows 98 System File
Checker program to manually extract Advapi32.dll from the \Win98 folder of the
Windows 98 CD. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, and then type Sfc.exe in the Open box. Click OK.
- Select Extract one file from installation
disk.
- Type advapi32.dll and then click Start.
- In Restore From, locate the Win98 folder on the Windows 98 CD-ROM, and then click
OK.
- Verify that the file is being saved in C:\Windows\System,
and then click OK.
- When you are prompted, restart your computer.
- Run the Setup program for Office XP.
