FP2000: Error Message When You View a Database (301608)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to view a Microsoft Database Results Region, you may receive an error message similar to the following:

Database Results Error
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

CAUSE

This issue can occur when the IUSR_Machine account does not have read permissions to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\DSNName

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedt32.exe.
Browse to the following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\DSNName
On the Security menu, click Permissions.
Click Add.
In the permissions list, click Everyone, and then click OK.
