SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to view a Microsoft Database Results Region, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Database Results Error
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified

CAUSE

This issue can occur when the IUSR_Machine account does not have read permissions to the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\DSNName

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps.

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. In the Open box, type regedt32.exe.
  3. Browse to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\DSNName

  4. On the Security menu, click Permissions.
  5. Click Add.
  6. In the permissions list, click Everyone, and then click OK.
