FP98: When You Submit a Form, the Form Is Returned Again Instead of the Confirmation Page (301605)

SYMPTOMS

When you click Submit on a feedback form in a Microsoft FrontPage Web, the feedback form does not display the confirmation page as expected, but instead displays the same feedback form.

If you click Submit a second time, the confirmation page is displayed as expected.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

NOTE: You may need to re-create the form after you complete these steps.
  1. Right-click the form, and then click Form Properties on the shortcut menu.
  2. In the Form Properties dialog box, click Send to.
  3. In the File name box, type _private/form_results.txt.
  4. In FrontPage, open the site that you want.
  5. Click Submit, and then press DELETE.
  6. On the File menu, click Save.
  7. On the Insert menu, point to Form Field, and then click Push Button.
  8. Double-click Button (the default name of the form button).
  9. In the Push Button Properties dialog box, click Submit, and then click OK.
  10. Right-click Submit, and then click Form Properties on the shortcut menu.
  11. In the Form Properties dialog box, ensure that the text in the File Name box reads as follows:

    _private/form_results.txt

  12. Save the page.
