The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 SP1
  • Microsoft Commerce Server 2002

This article was previously published under Q301372

SYMPTOMS

If you change the Digit grouping symbol on the Numbers tab in Regional Options to a period (or dot), the IP address of the Web server appears without a dot in the Commerce Server Microsoft Management Console (MMC) and cannot be saved.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the parsing routine recognizes the IP address as a number, and so it applies the Digit grouping symbol setting from Regional Options.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

Certain locale settings may use the period as the default Digit grouping symbol setting. If a number appears as 123.456.789,00 with the selected locale, you should install this fix or apply the workaround.
