OL2001: The Time Zone Does Not Match the Error Message That You Receive When You Start Outlook 2001 (301166)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Outlook 2001 for Mac, you are prompted to select your time zone. After you select your time zone, you may receive the following error message:
The time zone you have selected does not match the settings in your Date and Time Control Panel. Please check to make sure they are correct.
When you check your Date & Time control panel, your time zone is the same as the one that you selected in Outlook 2001 for Mac.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the Daylight-Saving Time is in Effect option is enabled in the Date & Time control panel, but you do not live in an area that observes Daylight Savings Time.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, click Set Daylight-Savings Time Automatically in the Date & Time control panel.

The Set Daylight-Savings Time Automatically option ensures that you are properly set for Daylight Savings Time in any time zone.
