OL2001: An Address in a Contact Form Is Not Added to the PAB (301159)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2001 for Mac
This article was previously published under Q301159 SYMPTOMS
If you context click an e-mail address in a contact form, and then click Add to Personal Address Book, a second instance of the contact form appears and the address is not added to the Personal Address Book (PAB).
NOTE: When you context click with your mouse, it may vary depending on the mouse that you are using. Some mouse devices employ what is generally known as "right-clicking," while the standard mouse accomplishes this function in conjunction with the CTRL key.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the preference in the Keep Personal Addresses In box is set to contacts instead of the PAB.
This behavior is by design.
WORKAROUND
To work around this behavior, change preferences in the Keep Personal Addresses In box preference to PAB. Outlook 2001 for Mac can use only one default address book provider. Use the following steps to change the address book preference:
- On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
- In the Mail section, click Address Book.
- In the Keep Personal Addresses In box, click Personal Address Book, and then click OK.
