OL2001: Error When You Drag a Message to a Word Document (301135)

SYMPTOMS

If you drag an Outlook 2001 for Mac message to the body of a Microsoft Word document, your computer may stop responding (hang), or you may receive a Type 2 Apple Macintosh System error message.

CAUSE

This problem can occur because Word cannot accept an Outlook 2001 for Mac message.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, select the text and then drag the selection to the Word document.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

In addition to the problem that is described in the "Symptoms" section of this article, you may receive the following series of error messages when you attempt to open an attachment that has been dragged from an Outlook 2001 for Mac message to the Word document:
The action could not be completed because Microsoft Outlook is busy. [Switch] [Retry] [Cancel]
If you click Switch, the following error message occurs
You need more memory or system resources. Close some windows and try again.
and the Word document does not open.
