OL2001: The Number of Contacts That Are Visible in the Contacts List Is Different Than the Number Calculated (301126)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Outlook 2001 for Mac
This article was previously published under Q301126 SYMPTOMS
When you view a user's contacts as a delegate, the number of contacts that appear in the Contacts list is different than the number that is calculated in the information bar in Outlook 2001 for Mac.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the contacts that are marked as Private are calculated in the information bar of Outlook 2001 for Mac when a delegate views them.
WORKAROUND
If you want to keep delegates from seeing the number of total contacts in your shared Contacts folder, you can move the contacts that you do not want to be seen to another Contacts folder. To do this:
- On the Outlook File menu, click Folder, and then click New Folder.
- Change the type of folder to create to a Contacts folder.
- Select the location that you want to place the folder, and then click OK.
- Move any contacts that you have marked as Private to this new Contacts folder.
