OFF2001: Help Topics with Graphics May Scroll Slowly (301062)

SYMPTOMS

If you access a Help topic in any of the Office 2001 for Mac programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may find that scrolling in the topic by using the vertical scroll bar is slow.

CAUSE

This problem can occur when there are graphics in the Help topic, and the text is long enough to require scrolling. When the scroll reaches the graphic, the scrolling slows noticeably.

Entourage does not have topics long enough to display this problem.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, download and install the Microsoft Office 2001 Service Release 1 file. To do so, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx?pid=download&location=/mac/download/office2001/update_905.xml&secid=10&ssid=25&flgnosysreq=True

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2001 for Mac Service Release 1.
