service uses the Full Name as the login name, when MSDSS copies the user to
NetWare Directory Services (NDS). CAUSE This problem may occur if the user id and display names are
transposed. RESOLUTIONWARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious
problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft
cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry
Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own
risk. To resolve this problem:
- Obtain and install Windows Services For Netware 5.0 Service
Pack 1 (SP1).
- After Windows Services for Netware 5.0 SP1 installs, start
Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
- Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSDSS\Parameters - On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:
Value name: SamRename
Data type: REG_DWORD
Value data: 1
