This article was previously published under Q300630 SYMPTOMS
When you use the "netdom time computer name /verify" command, you may receive the following output even if the time is correct:
Computer Status
==========================
<member name> Out Of Sync
The command completed successfully.
CAUSE
The Netdom.exe tool uses the NetRemoteTOD function to retrieve the time of the target computer. Because this operation may be slow, the delay to read the server time could influence the difference between the actual server time and the client time, and this can create an incorrect result.
Netdom.exe removes the time taken to get the result of the NetRemoteTOD function before it compares the client and server
time. However, because some local variables are used without being initialized, the time comparison is incorrect.
