SYMPTOMS

On the Specify the Title and Destination page of the SQL Server Workflow Template Instantiation Wizard, if you leave the Database Name field blank, you receive an error message that asks you to enter a server name, as follows:
SQL Server Workflow Template Instantiation Wizard

Please enter a name for the server.

RESOLUTION

Type a name for the database, and then continue with the wizard.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. Open the Workflow Manager for SQL Server, and then start the SQL Server Workflow Template Instantiation Wizard.
  2. When you see the Specify the Title and Destination page, enter an application title, a server name, and a Web URL. Leave the Database Name field blank. Note that when you click Next, you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section of this article.
