Access Violation Occurs When Verifusr.dll Calls CancelCookie (300369)

When Verifusr.dll calls the CancelCookie method, you may receive an access violation, and Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) may fail. The Inetinfo.exe or Dllhost.exe process fails with an access violation, and a Dr. Watson (DrWtsn32.exe) error is logged for this failure.
CAUSE
The reference to a null pointer results from a thread synchronization problem under stress.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, prevent the use of the thread synchronization functionality.
RESOLUTIONA supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Site Server service pack that contains this hotfix.
