SYMPTOMS

When you perform a "clean" installation of Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition, and Windows Server 2003 Datacenter Edition, the I want to choose the install drive letter and partition during setup check box in advanced options is selected by default, and you cannot clear the check box.

CAUSE

You must choose the installation drive and partition when you perform a "clean" installation of a Windows Server 2003 product.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
