Exchange 2000 recipients that you add to an Exchange Server 5.5 DL are not visible in the DL in Active Directory (300144)

When Exchange 2000 and Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 exist in the same organization but in different sites and directory replication is working (probably by means of the "bootstrap" installation method), if you use the Exchange Server 5.5 Exchange Server Administrator program to create distribution lists (DLs) that include recipients from the Exchange 2000 site, those recipients are not visible in the DL when it is replicated to Active Directory with the Active Directory Connector (ADC).
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue:
- Create another a Universal Distribution Group (UDG), which is equivalent to an Exchange Server 5.5 DL, in Active Directory.
- Add the Exchange 2000 recipients as members to the UDG that you created in step 1.
- Add the members of the Exchange Server 5.5 DL that was replicated
to Active Directory as a UDG to the UDG that you created in step 1 (if the members exist already in Exchange Server 5.5).
You can also work around this issue by creating the UDG (DL) in Active Directory and letting the recipient Connection Agreement that
points to the Site Replication Service (SRS) on the Exchange 2000 server replicate the Exchange 2000 recipients to the Exchange Server 5.5 computer.
If you add a new two-way Connection Agreement from Active Directory to the SRS, both Exchange 2000 and Exchange Server 5.5 users have adcGlobalNames attribute, and the DL displays all of the recipients regardless of the recipient's home server.
