SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to type your address in the Cat and Mouse Business Card template to create your own business cards in Microsoft Office Personal Portfolio, your address may be partially obscured by the picture of the mouse.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your address information is long enough to cover the picture of the mouse.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, use any of the following methods.

Method 1: Resize and Move the Pictures

Resize and move the cat and mouse picture in each business card so that there is enough room to type and display your contact information correctly. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Office Personal Portfolio.
  2. Click the Word tab, and then click Personal & Business Cards.
  3. Click Cat and Mouse Business Card.

The Cat and Mouse Business Card template is opened in Microsoft Word.
  4. In the upper-left business card, click the cat and mouse picture. The sizing handles (circles that appear at the corners and sides of the picture) indicate selection.
  5. Hold down the SHIFT key, and then repeat step 4 to select the picture in each business card.
  6. Position the mouse pointer over one of the sizing handles, and then drag the mouse to resize the picture to the size that you want.
  7. Click an empty area of the document to clear the selection.
  8. Type your contact information in each business card.

Method 2: Resize and Move the Text Box

Name and address information is contained in a text box in each business card. Resize and move the text box in each business card so that there is enough room to type and display your contact information correctly. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Office Personal Portfolio.
  2. Click the Word tab, and then click Personal & Business Cards.
  3. Click Cat and Mouse Business Card.

The Cat and Mouse Business Card template is opened in Word.
  4. In the upper-left business card, select the text box. To do this, move the pointer over any text in the business card, and then click to select the text box.

The borders of the text box appear, indicating selection.
  5. Hold down the SHIFT key, and then repeat step 4 to select the text box in each business card.
  6. Move and resize the text boxes to the position and size that you want so that there is enough room to type and display your contact information correctly.
    • To move the text boxes, move the pointer over the border of the text box until the pointer becomes a four-headed arrow, and then drag the border to move the text boxes to the position that you want.

    • To resize the text boxes, drag a sizing handle (circles that appear at the corners and sides of the text box) to change the size of the text boxes to the size that you want.

  7. Click an empty area of the document to clear the selection.
  8. Type your contact information in each business card.

Method 3: Modify the Layout of Your Contact Information

Modify the layout of the contact information in the text box to accommodate the cat and mouse picture in each business card. To do this follow these steps:
  1. Start Office Personal Portfolio.
  2. Click the Word tab, and then click Personal & Business Cards.
  3. Click Cat and Mouse Business Card.

The Cat and Mouse Business Card template is opened in Word.
  4. In the first business card, select Address 1.
  5. Press ENTER, and then type the first line of the address being used.
  6. Follow steps 4 and 5 for each card; or if the information is the same for each card, copy and paste the contact information into each card.
