Gateway for NFS Incorrectly Indicates That a File Was Successfully Deleted (300040)

SYMPTOMS

If you try to delete a file on a Gateway for NFS volume for which you only have read-only access, Gateway for NFS may incorrectly indicate that the file was deleted, even though the file has not been deleted.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Services for Unix release that contains this hotfix.
