Spaces in Graphic Lines/Incorrect Printer Switch Settings (30276)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS 2.0
- Microsoft Paintbrush for MS-DOS 4.0
This article was previously published under Q30276 SUMMARY
Several printers have "Data Processing Mode" and "Word Processing
Mode" switches. These switches adjust the line spacing from one width
to a width slightly wider.
An incorrect switch setting causes small blank lines to appear in a
graphics image. These blank lines appear because the printer is
spacing lines slightly farther apart than the graphics program thinks
it is.
If you are getting these blank, horizontal spaces when trying to
print a picture from PC or MS Paintbrush, you most likely are in the
word-processing mode. Switch to the data-processing mode.
