SUMMARY

This article describes how to reenable the default rules for collection of all events if this function is turned off during the installation of Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM).

MORE INFORMATION

When you install MOM, the default setting is to collect all events. However, this setting changes during installation if you click No when you are prompted to enable the default event collection rules. Clicking No configures MOM to collect only the events that match the predefined rules or your custom rules.

You can easily reestablish the collection of all events. To reenable the default rules for event collection:
  1. In the MOM MMC, expand Microsoft Operations Manager, expand Rules, and then expand Processing Rule Groups.
  2. For each of the rule groups, right-click the rule group, click Properties, click to select the Enable check box on the General tab, and then click OK.

The changes take effect on the client agents during the next heartbeat.
To force these changes to the Consolidators immediately, in the MOM MMC, expand Microsoft Operations Manager, right-click Rules, and then click Commit Configuration Changes Now.
