Visio2002: Single AutoCAD Shape Becomes Multiple Shapes When Converted (299102)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Standard
- Microsoft Visio 2002 Professional
This article was previously published under Q299102 SYMPTOMS
When you convert a AutoCAD drawing object that is a basic geometric shape, the object may become a collection of smaller objects that the geometric shape is composed of. The shape does not remain one object. For example, when you convert a rectangle shape, it becomes two right triangles plus the outline of the rectangle.
The geometric shape may also be filled when it is converted.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, follow these steps:
- Immediately after you convert the AutoCAD drawing object, select the converted object.
NOTE: Be sure that you select all the constituent parts of the shape. - On the Shape menu, point to Grouping, and then click Group.
