BUG: Cannot Change the Type of Installation During SQL Server 2000 Setup (298916)

SYMPTOMS

During SQL Server 2000 setup, when you click Back on the Select Components dialog box to change the type of installation, nothing happens.

This problem occurs after you select Client Tools Only on the Installation Definition dialog box; it does not occur if you selected Server and Client Tools or Connectivity Only.

WORKAROUND

To choose a different option, cancel the current setup process and run setup again.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in SQL Server 2000.
