SUMMARY
This article summarizes the minimum system requirements for the Microsoft Office Keyboard.
For a Microsoft Windows-Based Computer
To use the Microsoft(r) Office Keyboard, IntelliType Pro Software with the scroll wheel and the Hot Keys, you need the following:
- Microsoft Office 97 or later (does not support Small Business Tools program).
- A computer with a Pentium 133-based processor or later.
- Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me), Microsoft Windows NT(r) 4.0 with Service Pack 6 or later, or Microsoft Windows 2000.
- 32 megabytes (MB) of random access memory (RAM) for Windows 98 and Windows Me; 64 MB of RAM for Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000.
- 35 MB of hard-disk space.
- A CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
- A PS/2 or Universal Serial Bus (USB) connection to your computer.
NOTE: USB is not supported in Windows NT 4.0. - Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or later. Internet Explorer 5.5 browser software is included (requires 45 MB of additional hard disk space).
- Windows Media(tm) Player 7 (optional and included; requires up to 60 MB of additional hard-disk space, depending on your operating system); not compatible with Windows NT 4.0.
For a Macintosh-Based Computer
To use the Microsoft Office Keyboard, IntelliType Pro Software with the scroll wheel and the Hot Keys on the Office Keyboard, you need the following:
- Microsoft Office 98 for Macintosh or later.
- Macintosh OS 8.6 or later operating system (excluding OS X or later).
- 15 MB of hard-disk space.
- USB port.
- CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
Internet Hot Keys
For a Windows-Based Computer
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later (version 5.5 is included), MSN(r) Explorer, or Netscape Navigator 4.73 or later.
For a Macintosh-Based Computer
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or later, or Netscape Navigator 4.73 or later.
Multimedia Hot Keys
For a Windows-Based Computer
Versions of the Microsoft CD Player, Microsoft Deluxe CD, Microsoft Windows Media Player (version 7 included), and certain versions of other popular media players and browsers.
For a Macintosh-Based Computer
The Apple CD player.
Notes
- The Sleep Hot Key functionality depends on your operating system, how well your computer handles power management in the BIOS, and how well devices in your computer work with power management.
- The Task Pane key is supported only in Microsoft Office XP for Windows-based computers.
