SUMMARY

This article describes the installation and authentication information that is used by the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Web Console on the Internet Information Services (IIS) server.

MORE INFORMATION

The MOM installation process installs the Web Console files to the IIS server. The process creates on the Web server a virtual directory that is called OnePointOperations, which is configured for Microsoft Windows NT Challenge/Response authentication. To restrict access, you can configure NTFS file system permissions on the Web Console files and folders within the \Inetpub\Wwwroot\WebConsole folder.

The Web Console is not configured to use either the IUSER or IWAM anonymous accounts. Access to the Web Console is granted through membership in the local OnePointOp Users group that is created on the Data Access Server (DAS) and database computers.

Note that the Web Console only allows you to resolve alerts and to view reports, regardless of your OnePoint group membership.
