SYMPTOMS

In Internet Explorer 6, if you browse the Internet and playback media files in the Media bar, the media files that you played are not added to the History folder.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, set Microsoft Windows Media Player as the default handler of Web-based media. Then, whenever you play media files, they are cached in the History folder.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
