Microsoft has released the Windows Media Services add-in that ensures seamless stream switching between an on-demand ad and a live broadcast by enabling communication between a Windows Media Server and the Windows Media Player.

The add-in described in this article is beneficial specifically to the advertising community because there is no longer a delay when returning to a live stream from an inserted ad.

This server-side add-in improves the user experience for those users who are using current versions of the Windows Media Player (version 6.4 and later).
