PRB: Specifying "UpperRange" to "NDIS5_IP" in Net Class INF Files (298709)
The information in this article applies to:
- the operating system: Microsoft Windows 2000
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Driver Development Kit (DDK)
This article was previously published under Q298709 SYMPTOMS
If you install an NDIS miniport driver that has the upper binding interfaces key UpperRange set to ndis5_ip, the corresponding network device connection applet does not show up in the Network and Dial-up Connections folder. The ndis5_ip UpperRange enables an NDIS 5.x network adapter to bind to only TCP/IP protocol at its upper edge.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. REFERENCES
For additional information about the UpperRange binding interfaces key, refer to the DDK documentation.
