OL2002: You Cannot View the Private Setting for Imported Items (298556)

SYMPTOMS

After you import information from a file, you may not be able to view the private setting for an item when you view the folder in a table view.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur when the format of the file that you are going to import is anything other than a personal folders (.pst) file format. The private setting is not saved for file formats other than .pst files.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, click the Private cell that corresponds to the item, or open the item and verify that the Private check box in the lower-right corner is selected.
