Sales Cube Processing Is Slow in Commerce Server 2000 Data Warehouse (298530)

SYMPTOMS

In a Commerce Server 2000 Data Warehouse, you may notice that processing of the Sales cube takes an excessive amount of time.

CAUSE

The Sales cube schema contains the BasketItemOrdersView view as its Fact table. The design of the BasketItemOrdersView contains an unnecessary join between the OrderFormLineItemsView view and the Products table using the ProductNameCat field.

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Commerce Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Commerce Server 2000 Service Pack 1.
