Mobile Information 2001 Server Configuration Changes Do Not Appear Immediately in Active Directory (298516)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Mobile Information 2001 Server
- Microsoft Mobile Information Server 2002
This article was previously published under Q298516 SYMPTOMS
When you use Mobile Information 2001 Server System Manager to change the Mobile Information 2001 Server computer configuration, it may take 10 to 30 minutes for these changes to take effect.
CAUSEThis behavior is by design. When you use Mobile Information 2001 Server System Manager to make changes, Mobile Information 2001 Server components may cache the changes before Mobile Information 2001 Server System Manager updates Active Directory.
MORE INFORMATION
User and Device provisioning is one of the features that are affected by this behavior. When you change the user configuration (for example, when you change or delete the default device), if the client request comes in to obtain the default device for that user, Active Directory does not reflect this change for some time.
