Two CD-ROM Icons Are Displayed After Swapping LS-240 to CD-ROM Drive (298505)

When an LS-240 (high-capacity floppy disk) drive is "hot swapped" by a CD-ROM drive, an extra icon may be displayed in My Computer and Windows Explorer. Device Manager also displays two CD-ROM devices. This problem disappears when you restart the system with the CD-ROM drive.
CAUSE
This problem can occur if a code problem in the Atapi.sys file prevents the logical unit numbers (LUNs) from being reset when a multi-LUN device is replaced by a single LUN device.
RESOLUTIONTo resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the
