  • Microsoft ActiveSync 3.0

This article was previously published under Q298502

SYMPTOMS

When you use ActiveSync 3.0 or 3.1 to export a .cdb database file from a Microsoft Windows CE-based device to your desktop computer, the ActiveSync Select the tables to copy box (that contains the list of available database tables to export from the Windows CE-based device) is empty. Note that when you try to export a .cdb database file from a Windows CE-based device to your desktop computer, you initiate a conversion of the .cdb database file to an .mdb database file that you can read with Microsoft Access.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, click Explore in ActiveSync, locate the database file on the Windows CE-based device, and then copy this file to the desktop computer. When the ActiveSync Export tool starts, the Select the tables to copy box is populated. Note: The option to "Select the tables to copy" is no longer supported by ActiveSync 3.5 or later.
