Tree View Does Not Update When You Rename Icons on the Desktop (298347)

SYMPTOMS

If Windows Explorer is open and you rename certain icons on the desktop, the tree view in Windows Explorer does not immediately update to show the change, and pressing the F5 key does not force an update. This may affect the My Computer, My Documents, or My Network Places icons.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, close and then reopen the Windows Explorer window.
