XADM: Exchange Server 5.5 Users Cannot View Conference Room Resources in Mixed-Mode Environment (298122)

SYMPTOMS

In a mixed-mode environment, conferencing room resources are displayed in the Global Address List for Exchange 2000 users but not for Exchange Server 5.5 users.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because Active Directory objects for conferencing resources are not created in the Users container; they are created in the Microsoft Exchange System Objects\Conferencing container. If this container is not replicated by the Active Directory Connector (ADC), the conferencing room resources are not replicated to the Exchange Server 5.5 folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, add the Microsoft Exchange System Objects\Conferencing container to a recipient Connection Agreement:
  1. Start the Active Directory Connector snap-in.
  2. Right-click your primary recipient Connection Agreement.
  3. Click the From Windows tab, and then click Add.
  4. Click the Microsoft Exchange System objects\Conferencing container, click OK, and then click OK.
