This article describes how to hide certain reports in the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) Reporting console so that the reports are not visible to end users.

When all of the MOM monitoring and reporting components are installed on the MOM server, there are nearly 150 different reports available. It is beyond the scope of this article to list them all.

To hide an entire category of reports that you do not want end users to see:
  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Operations Manager, and then click MOM Reporting.
  2. On the File menu, click Enter Design Mode, click Tables in the left pane, and then double-click REPORT_CATEGORY.
  3. Expand the report category that you want to hide, and then change the existing text in the FEATURE_CODE column. It does not matter what you change it to, just so it is different, for example "Not in Use." If there is no text, the listing disappears completely.

    IMPORTANT: Before you make any changes, take note of the report's existing entry in the FEATURE_CODE column. If you ever want to make the report viewable again, you must restore the exact entry.
  4. On the File menu, click Save.
Note that this functionality is available only through the full version of Microsoft Access 2000 or Microsoft Access 2002.
