This article was previously published under Q297766

SUMMARY

This article describes how to use the InstallService.ini file to determine the names and locations of files that are installed during a remote installation of the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) agent.

MORE INFORMATION

In Windows Explorer on the Consolidator computer, browse to the following location

%installdrive%\Program Files\Microsoft Operations Manager 2000\OnePoint\InstallService

and then open the InstallService.ini file in Notepad.

By default, this file has four sections. These sections are named [vars], [files], [registry], and [services]. The [files] section lists the common and the MOM-specific .dll files that can be installed, depending on what version of the Microsoft Windows NT or Microsoft Windows 2000 operating system an agent is using.

MOM adds necessary .dll files that are not present and replaces older versions of necessary .dll files that already exist on the system. MOM does not replace newer versions of .dll files.
