SYMPTOMS

The administrative template Wmp.adm for Windows Media Player 6.4 is not included in the Windows XP operating system.

CAUSE

Wmp.adm is an administrative template that is designed for Microsoft Windows Media Player 6.4 for Microsoft Windows 2000. In Windows XP, the Wmplayer.adm file is a replacement for the Wmp.adm file.

WORKAROUND

If you require the Wmp.adm file, you can obtain it from the Windows 2000 media and use it in Windows XP.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
