This article describes how to modify the service account name or the password for the accounts that Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) uses.

Note Password only changes to either account must also be done in the domain, before you follow steps to change Consolidator-Agent Manager information.

To change the service account name or the password for the Consolidator-Agent Manager (CAM):
  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
  2. Right-click One-Point Service, and then click Properties.
  3. On the Logon tab, type the new account name or password. If you are changing the password, type the password again in the Confirm password box.
  4. Stop the OnePoint service, and then restart it.
To change the service account name or the password for the Data Access Server (DAS):
  1. On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Component Services.
  2. Expand Computers, expand My Computer, and then expand Com+ Applications.
  3. Right-click OnePointActiveOpsDas, and then click Properties.
  4. On the Identity tab, type the new account name or password. If you are changing the password, type the password again in the Confirm password box.
  5. If this is the original release of MOM, right-click MomDasLocator, click Properties, and then repeat step 4.

    Note The MomDasLocator COM+ program does not exist in MOM Service Pack 1 (SP1).
The DAS service account must be a member of the local Administrators group on the DAS computer and of the SQL Administrators group on the database computer and must have the following user rights:
  • Log on as batch job
  • Act as part of the operating system
  • Create a token object
  • Log on as a service
